Cres
Cres is situated in the north-east part of the Kvarner Bay. Because of its location, Cres has a unique microclimate, clear sea, wide beaches and above all typical island-like atmosphere with a cozy feeling of the whole area.
Cres is the main town of the island and the main tourist center on the island. The Island of Cres was inhabited since the prehistoric era and archeologists are still finding evidence of early settlements. Apart from these findings, there are also settlements dating from Roman times.
The town of Cres has a remarkable medieval harbor Madrac, gothic and renaissance churches, monasteries, palaces etc.
As in all Croatian coastal or island towns during the summer season, once a week festivals are held, where you will be able to get a glimpse of local traditions. For all of our guests, we at Lighthouse Yacht Charter Croatia suggest to visit the village of Lubenice where you can enjoy musical evenings and listen to various local and foreign artists.
In the Cres Bay there is modern marina, which is one of the most visited nautical bases in the north Adriatic.
Be sure to taste local cuisine like locally (and ecologically) grown lamb, various fruits, and vegetables. While you are waiting to be served, make sure to try the medicinal brandy.
It doesn’t matter whether you are coming with friends or family, make sure you take your yacht (sailing yacht, catamaran, motor boat or gulet) to visit the Island of Cres and discover the beauty of the Adriatic Sea with Lighthouse Yacht Charter Croatia.
