Age of charter yacht (sailing yacht, catamaran, motor boat or gulet)
Many charter clients believe that the age of a charter boat is a very important factor. However, contrary to their belief, age is a just a number in this case and the crucial factor is the true condition of the yacht. Age can be one of the factors to consider mainly because you'll get to pay less for a well maintained, fully functional yacht that is a bit older.
Yachts that are five (or less than five) years old are considered as new yachts for chartering. If you are chartering a yacht (sailing yacht, catamaran, motor boat or gulet) that is more than five years old, make sure that the charter (or charter agency) is a reliable one. Like with anything else, the same rule applies for yachts – the older ones have more tendencies to break down. Because of this reason, the yacht has to be very well maintained. Thus, when chartering a yacht, consider the organization's reputation.
