10 best Croatian beaches – the best spots to drop your anchor - Part 1
You don’t have to be an experienced sailor to enjoy the best spots on the Croatian coast. Book your yacht, catamaran, gulet or motor boat with Lighthouse Sailing Charter and we will show you beaches that seem from another world.
Krknjaši Blue Lagoon
Less than 24 km (13 nautical miles) from Split but when you enter the lagoon it feels like another world. With just a couple of residential houses on the rocky slopes of Drvenik, the island protects its lagoon and pristine, azure waters. It seems like a deserted lagoon perfect for unplugging from everyday stress.
Clear blue waters of the lagoon are perfect for swimming, kayaking or paddle boarding. In the evening, you can enjoy your dinner in a small restaurant, hidden in the pine trees of this lagoon. The restaurant can be accessed by dinghy from the north side of the lagoon. The meals are simple and tasty, comprised of local seafood and vegetables. Resist the temptation of going to sleep before experiencing the sunrise while lying on the deck of your yacht, catamaran, gulet or motor boat. The atmosphere is magnificent and extraordinary.

Luka Rogacic, Vis Island
42 km (approx. 23 nautical miles) from the Blue Lagoon (Krknjaši) lies Luka Rogacic. On the north coast of the island of Vis, some 52 km (28 nautical miles) from the town of Split.
The island of Vis (where Luka Rogacic is situated) was and old naval (military) base for the Yugoslav People's Army after WWII. But today there is no military base. The income of the local people in these days comes mainly from tourism.
If you want to be a part of a James Bond movie like scenery, then this natural harbor is a perfect spot for you. The site of the Luka Rogacic is like a submarine pen, which looks like a relic of the islands Cold War past.
In this paradise-like, almost surreal setting you can tour the pen with your dinghy. So, if you plan to visit this place, the Lighthouse Sailing Charter team will make sure that the boat you are chartering takes you there.

Pakleni Islands
Pakleni Islands are a group of islands just outside of the island of Hvar, some 19 km (approx. 10 nautical miles) from the island of Vis and 37 km (approx. 20 nautical miles) from the town of Split (mainland). If you decide to moore at ACI Palmižana there are water taxies (small boats) that can take you to the town of Hvar.
Waters around these islands are clear and we know all the best places you can drop the anchor and explore hidden beaches and lagoons. Exploring the wooded islands through local footpaths and roads is also a lot of fun.
The island of Sveti Klement is a perfect spot if you need to find shelter during strong winds. The ACI marina is also situated on this island. Just a short walk from the marina there is a bay that is perfect for anchoring and enjoying a nice pebble beach with just a few restaurants close by. On the northern part of the island, you can find excellent seafood restaurants. They can be reached by jetties or footpaths. The whole island is a rich hunting ground.
